Expected downtime 5/9/06Tonight our datacenter will be installing RAID hardware on each of our servers. We expect each server to be down for less than 10 minutes as the new hardware is added and the system rebooted.

A message from the ownerWhat happened that knocked our server offline?

      On Sunday (4/30) around 2 PM Central I was paged that one of my servers was behaving erratically and rebooting itself. I checked on it and did not find anything glaringly wrong in the log files but continued to monitor the situation. I also contacted my server management company to have a look at the situation. They did not respond for several hours.

Outage Good evening folks. Those of you hosted on the Beethoven server, the same server that hosts this site, were recently affected by a serious outage caused by a hard disk failure on the server. Everyone at Blue Note has been working around the clock to get this server back up and operational. We are confident enough in our work that we're leaving just the normal overnight support team here to answer questions and handle any issues while the day-timers get some sleep. Shared SSL setupAs of 1/13/06, the shared SSL setup will be slightly different. If you plan to use shared SSL on your site, your shared SSL URL will be something like this:
https://server.bluenoteweb.net/~username/

Please not that our billing system is now using that same URL. The new URL to the billing system is:
https://beethoven.bluenoteweb.net/~bluenote/billing/

New spam software ready to go!The new spam software has been thoroughly tested and is now fully deloyed on all DirectAdmin servers. If you have any comments or questions, please use the contact form on this website to let us know.

New spam blocking softwareToday, 12/8/05, we are testing some new spam blocking and filtering software on the server beethoven.bluenoteweb.net. This may adversely affect the availability of email services for some customers. All of these methods have been tested and verified to run properly, we are now testing to determine how much the server load will be affected during peak times. This should be a significant upgrade to our service offerings. Please bear with us as we work out the kinks.
